UPIASI is currently working on a new project titled, “Comparative Constitutionalism in South Asia” funded by The Ford Foundation Grant to CASI. The project will compare constitutional developments, process and problems in South Asian countries. A conference is to be held in late April 2018. The project will bring together scholars from/on countries of South Asia, and some others, for a broader comparative perspective on the subject. Participating scholars will address constitutional issues in their respective countries, most of which have confronted challenges to constitution-making and constitution-building in conditions of ethnic/religious/linguistic diversity and socio-economic inequities. Many of these challenges are legacies of their colonial past.
